Make-up & Hair Design for Weddings
“Thank you SO much for the amazing job you did with our hair and make-up - we felt like film stars!”
I have been a makeup artist and hair stylist for blockbuster films for over 15 years. I have made up actors and actresses for some of the biggest films to come out in recent years and my work has been photographed by legendary photographer Annie Liebovitz for Vogue America. I have also been doing weddings for as long as I have film, and have made up hundreds of brides for their most special day.
I specialise in naturally radiant make-up and hair. I am not your typical bridal makeup artist as I also work in film, but please don’t be put off by my film portfolio of cuts and bruises - I absolutely love to do beauty work too. My aim is to make sure you walk down the aisle feeling the best version of yourself - like a million dollars.
An actor’s makeup and hair has to last perfectly for 12 hours or more on a movie set, and with cinema screens averaging 70ft, not a single hair can be out of place. My extensive experience in the film industry means that you will be camera ready and your make-up will last all day and into the night. The only thing you will need to top up is your lipstick. And how lovely will it be for you not to worry about having to do your own makeup and get your own eyeliner perfect whilst juggling any pre-wedding jitters!
I can work with a diverse range of skin tones and ALL types of hair including afro/textured.
Make-up and hair is such a personal thing and I don’t believe in ‘one-style-fits-all’ makeup and hair for weddings. At the trial, I like to get to know you, your likes and dislikes and the style of wedding you have chosen so that I can tailor your makeup and hair to your personality. And wedding makeup and hair is so much more than products and styling. I am used to working under pressure and clients regularly comment on how calm I am, as emotions can run high on a wedding morning even when everything goes to plan. I will cover body spots, marks and tattoos and fix any unsightly fake tan marks you might have! I have even buttoned up dresses. I won’t leave until I know you are absolutely happy.
Soft, pretty make-up that enhances your own natural beauty is my absolute favourite for weddings but if you usually wear more make-up on a daily basis and would like something more striking - no problem. Stronger make-up and lashes can be applied, and hair extensions can be sourced and styled. (Almost) Anything is possible!
I have a full luxury makeup and hair kit and I am fully insured for public liability.

Which areas do you cover?
I am based in Brackley, Northamptonshire but I am happy to travel all over the UK and beyond for your wedding. I frequently work in London, Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds, Buckinghamshire, the Midlands, Birmingham, Worcestershire, Surrey and Gloucestershire.
Do you provide makeup and hair for destination weddings?
Yes, I love to work abroad and will happily travel for your destination wedding.
What make-up and hair products do you use?
I use a wide range of luxury products in my kit, mostly designer brands with a few high street favourites thrown in. To name a few, my favourite brands are: Tom Ford Beauty, Pat McGrath Labs, Chanel, Dior Beauty, Lancome, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Charlotte Tilbury, NARS, MAC Cosmetics and Bobbi Brown. I am in the process of making my kit as ethical and cruelty free as possible whilst still using products that I love and trust. For hair, I tend to favour GHD, Bumble & Bumble and Schwarzkopf styling products. I also have experience with styling afro and textured hair and have products in my kit for these styles.
Can I book for wedding makeup and hair without a trial?
In my experience, it is vital to have a makeup and hair trial before your wedding day. Everybody’s skin and hair is different and the trial isn’t just for the bride, it is for myself also, so that I can see what your makeup and hair is like and troubleshoot and issues we might have with styling before the big day. In film we do multiple tests before an actor’s makeup look is perfected. Your wedding is one of the biggest and most important days in your life so its just not worth laving everything until the last minute. Having a trial can save hours of time and possible stress on the wedding day and ensure you don’t have any funny skin flare ups and that your hair behaves as we want it to.
How long does a make-up and hair trial last?
I usually allow approximately 3 hours for a full Bride make-up and hair trial, but the trial is ‘limitless’, because I don’t set a time limit. Once we have had a chat about your likes, dislikes, wedding colour theme and your dress, we trial the make-up and hair and then I give you an opportunity to look at what I have done and we can adjust anything you are unsure of. I won’t leave until I know you are 100% happy and feeling confident for your big day.
What do you charge for wedding makeup and hair?
Please take a look at my guide prices further up the page. Then, if you feel I could be the right makeup artist for you, fill in the contact form at the top of the page where it says ‘make a booking enquiry’.
Where will my trial be held?
I will come to your chosen address for the trial. Mileage charges may apply depending on the distance from my location. You may also be able to visit me for this from summer 2024 onwards..
I love this hairstyle I found but I’m not sure my hair is long enough?
Don’t worry. A hair style might need to be adapted slightly to suit you anyway, or we can add hair extensions or a hair piece to achieve your dream hair. I can supply clip in hair extensions and style them for you on the wedding morning. I’m not saying everything is achievable but we can give it a go!
Will my make-up and hair last all day?
In a nutshell, yes. Everybody’s skin holds make-up differently, especially if it is oil-prone. However, I encourage each bride to keep their make-up on after the trial so see how it lasts and if there are any problems it gives us time to troubleshoot before the wedding day and use a different product. Most of the brides I have made up have let me know after the wedding that their make-up lasted all day and into the night. The only things you might need for the wedding day are a lipstick to top up with, and a powder or some blotting papers if your skin is especially oily and the weather is hot and humid,
I hardly ever wear makeup and want very little for my wedding. Do I still need a trial?
In my experience, it is even more important to do a makeup trial if you want a very natural look. A makeup artist’s idea of a natural makeup may be very different to what you have in mind. Makeup is all about light and shade, and even when applied lightly it can change your features in a way that you are not used to. It’s the same with eyes - my idea of a smokey eye might be very different to what you have in mind. Therefore it is really important to trial the makeup to ensure you are fully happy before the wedding day. The trial is as much for me as it is for you, to learn what you like and don’t like, and also to ensure you don’t have any sensitvities to the products that I use. It is extremely rare that this would ever happen and most women know already if they have an allergy, but your wedding day is such an important event and we don’t want anything to go wrong!
What happens if you are sick or can’t make it to do my makeup and hair on the wedding day?
